Fuel filter

The original mesh insert mounted inside the CSS-13 aircraft fuel separator, used for final cleaning of the fuel from fine impurities.[1] Made of brass or steel frame with a dense wire mesh stretched over it, finished with a threaded base with a hexagonal head for mounting.
